1. Project Overview
mcg-helper Development Assistant
What Is mcg-helper?
A personalized R&D workflow automation system that provides a standardized approach to visual workflow automation, featuring rich drag-and-drop components and excellent interactivity. It implements automation through flowcharts, providing strong controllability, real-time capabilities, and traceability. To make workflows easier to understand and demonstrate their feasibility, the system focuses on automating practical R&D scenarios. Typical use cases include code generation, application deployment, environment setup, environment simulation, automatic discovery and detection, and data processing. These scenarios are automated through a series of custom-designed components, reducing and simplifying workloads. Its core highlight is the ability to build your own workflow components to meet custom requirements.

4. Feature Overview
What Are the Advantages of mcg-helper?
- Lightweight, non-intrusive, and easy to deploy (no database installation or special configuration required; runs independently with just JDK 8 and Tomcat 8).
- Cross-platform, portable, and extensible. Based on a B/S architecture, it can be accessed directly through a browser.
- A standardized workflow automation framework that makes implementing workflow automation quick and easy.
- Supports secondary development, allowing you to create custom drag-and-drop workflow components and make automation better suited to your requirements.
- WEB SSH enables interaction with Linux directly through a browser and supports Google authentication.
5. Tech Stack
What Can mcg-helper Do?
Quickly implement workflow automation. Built-in components serve as examples and starting points, focusing on practical requirements in R&D workflows:
1. Code Generation: Quickly build code generation features. Use a visual interface with drag-and-drop components and connecting lines to design flowcharts and customize the generation of any code you need.
2. Environment Setup: For Java applications, tasks such as installing JDK, Tomcat, ZooKeeper, MQ, HBase, MySQL, and other components can all be automated.
3. Application Deployment: Automate the entire process, including pulling GIT code, building with MAVEN, uploading via SFTP, and executing Linux scripts. Easily implement interactive requirements such as switching users, initializing data, controlling the startup order of multiple applications, and triggering operations under specific conditions.
4. Simulated Operations: Interface debugging, data simulation, functional self-testing, and other tasks suitable for testing scenarios.
5. Automated Detection: Use workflow loops to implement scenarios requiring proactive triggering, detection, and control, such as server performance monitoring, application availability checks, and recurring scanning operations.
6. Data Processing: Handle requirements such as periodically synchronizing data from development environments to test environments or processing and filtering data across multiple databases.
7. WEB SSH: Operate Linux through a browser simply and conveniently.
Overall, the flowchart-based approach makes workflows clear and intuitive. Components are easy to use and control, with a low learning curve. The system's "Home" page includes links to video tutorials that help you quickly get started with and master mcg-helper. Once familiar with the system, you can create custom components to meet your own automation requirements.
