1. Project Overview

• This project is the open-source edition (OS) of the FeelDesk ticket management system. It is a standardized edition separated from the Developer Edition (DEV). It supports customization of ticket template fields, ticket statuses, and other settings, as well as different routing rules for different templates. It is suitable for enterprise users with relatively simple ticket management requirements. Since its launch, FeelDesk has gained recognition from numerous customers and undergone more than a thousand iterations and upgrades. To meet the demands of larger-scale deployments and more complex applications, its framework has also been upgraded from the original ThinkPHP 3.2.3 to ThinkPHP 6. With a Vue-based frontend technology stack, it provides SaaS services with greater stability and faster response times.

After nine years of continuous development and benefiting greatly from the community, we have jointly decided with our colleagues to release the FeelDesk (OS) open-source edition to give back to the community and our users. Releasing the basic version as open source is a small step in our support for the open-source movement. Your support will help us take even bigger steps in the future! We encourage all developers to respect and support open-source projects!

Other FeelDesk Editions and Services

• The Developer Edition is the full-featured version of the open-source edition, designed specifically for customers with software development capabilities. It is suitable for system integrators and customer technical teams. Through secondary development, it can be seamlessly integrated with their own systems to provide users with more comprehensive systems and services. Note: The Developer Edition is not an upgraded version of the open-source edition. The FeelDesk open-source edition is free of licensing fees, provided that the open-source license is followed. • The Professional Edition is a redesigned version based on the Developer Edition and was released in March 2021. It offers higher performance and uses the latest technology framework, providing greater SaaS service capabilities. It organically integrates ticket management and dispatching workflows, adds a relatively independent marketplace module, and enables users to quickly build an end-to-end platform covering everything from order placement to service delivery.
• Differences Between the Developer Edition and Professional Edition

1. Different development frameworks: The Professional Edition uses the latest PHP framework and version.

2. Different Development Models: The Professional Edition adopts a frontend-backend separation architecture, while the Developer Edition does not separate the frontend and backend;

3. Different Mobile Support: The Professional Edition supports H5, APP, and mini programs, while the Developer Edition supports H5 only;

4. Code Standards: The Professional Edition follows PSR-2 naming conventions, enforces strict code layering, provides comprehensive comments, and uses unified error codes.

5. Functional Differences: The open-source edition and Professional Edition have some minor functional differences, but these do not affect functional stability.
