What Is an IDP?

IDP is a self-developed AI IDE (Artificial Intelligence Integrated Development Environment) designed specifically for AI and data science developers, such as data scientists and algorithm engineers, helping them improve AI development efficiency.

IDP natively supports Python and SQL, the two most widely used languages in AI and data science. Based on the workflows of data scientists and algorithm engineers and the characteristics of AI development, it also provides productivity plugins such as version management, environment management and cloning, variable management, pre-built code snippets, and intelligent code assistance, reducing the time spent on development preparation and auxiliary tasks.

IDP's kernel is written in Rust, delivering excellent runtime performance.

IDP adopts a plugin-based architecture, making it easy to integrate plugins required throughout the AI development lifecycle, such as data annotation plugins and hyperparameter optimization plugins. We will also build a plugin library in the future and welcome interested developers to join us in creating plugins.

The core features of IDP include: ● Multi-language Support: An interactive programming environment that supports Python, SQL, and Markdown simultaneously within the same notebook.

● Data Visualization: Generate data analysis charts directly using built-in data visualization tools, including bar charts, scatter plots, line charts, and more.

● Automatic Version Management: Built-in version management allows users to easily track and manage code changes and clearly compare different versions.

● Code Assistance: Powerful code assistance features, including intelligent code completion, quick fixes, and go-to-definition navigation.

● Package Manager: Easily search for and manage Python packages.

● Variable Manager: Interactively browse and manage variables, making it easy to compare different algorithmic approaches and parameter configurations.

● Environment Management: Supports multiple runtime environments and environment switching, as well as installing, uninstalling, and managing Python packages. Supports custom runtime environments, persistent environment storage, and environment cloning.

● Outline: Supports viewing Markdown heading outlines and quickly navigating to specific headings.

● Global Search: Supports global searches across files and text files, allowing users to search for characters and locate files.

● File Manager: Provides a structured directory-based file manager with file tab management and preview support for images and Excel files.

● Terminal: Run advanced scripts, perform installation operations, and execute other tasks through the terminal.

Quick Start Guide

Start IDP in Docker

> docker pull baihaiopensource/idp-studio
> docker run -p 3000:3000 baihaiopensource/idp-studio

Then open http://localhost:3000 in your browser.

Start IDP Using Precompiled Binaries

• Linux x86_64

Note: Starting IDP with precompiled binaries on Linux requires Python 3.7 or later (CPython or PyPy).
