Flowable is a popular lightweight business process engine developed in Java. With the Flowable process engine, we can deploy BPMN2.0 process definitions (usually XML files), create process instances from these definitions, query and access process-related instances and data, and perform other operations.
Flowable can be flexibly integrated into our services, applications, and architectures. Business process engine operations can be performed by importing Flowable JAR packages or directly using the Flowable REST API.
Flowable was developed as a fork of Activity5.0, so many of its internal concepts are similar.
