password-x not only supports storing passwords for various websites, servers, databases, applications, and more, but also includes a built-in password generator that quickly creates secure, random passwords. Additionally, it supports password grouping, helping you categorize and organize passwords by scenario and type.

With password-x, you can easily manage and protect your passwords, ensuring that your information remains secure. Whether you are an individual or an enterprise user, password-x is an ideal choice.

4. Feature Overview

  password-x is a password management tool carefully built with mainstream frameworks such as Vite, Vue 3, and Element Plus. It offers excellent stability and an elegant, well-designed interface. We use advanced AES symmetric encryption to process password files, ensuring both security and performance.

  To fully protect user passwords, critical configuration information such as the user's OSS credentials and master password is encrypted using browser fingerprinting before being stored in localStorage. This ensures that even if hackers gain access to the system, they cannot easily obtain users' sensitive information.

Security

• Password files are stored using Alibaba Cloud Object Storage, eliminating the risk of developers leaking passwords.

• Password files are encrypted with AES using the master password. Without the master password, no one can easily decrypt them.

• Alibaba Cloud OSS credentials and master password information are stored in the local cache using browser fingerprinting. They cannot be viewed directly or copied for unauthorized use.

• This is an open-source project. Community oversight helps prevent malicious source code modifications and the theft of sensitive password data.

• If you want to further enhance security, you can disable master password caching. This way, you must verify your master password every time you open the password page before viewing your passwords.

Reliability

  password-x uses Alibaba Cloud Object Storage to store password files as its database.

Alibaba Cloud Object Storage Service (OSS) is a cloud storage product that provides massive capacity, security, low costs, and high reliability. Its data durability reaches 99.9999999999% (12 nines), representing an extremely low probability of data loss within a year. Meanwhile, its service availability is no less than 99.995%, ensuring that users can access their stored data anytime, anywhere.

To further improve data reliability:

• Enable Alibaba Cloud versioning. Even if passwords are accidentally deleted or a program bug occurs, you can restore your data at any time (this will consume additional storage space).

• Enable Alibaba Cloud cross-region replication (additional fees may apply).
