1. Project Overview
ModengTerm - A Simple Yet Powerful Terminal Emulator
ModengTerm is a terminal emulator developed with WPF. It offers powerful features similar to XShell while being open source and free to use. Its ultimate goal is to serve as a free alternative to XShell, providing users with a free, secure, and reliable virtual terminal application.
ModengTerm handles many operations, including terminal sequence parsing, text rendering, cursor rendering, text selection, and scrolling through history. As a result, it offers a high degree of customization, but its codebase is also relatively complex.

Cross-Platform Support
Currently, ModengTerm runs only on Windows. A Mac version is planned for the future.
WPF is Microsoft's next-generation graphics system. It runs on .NET Framework 3.0 and later, providing a unified way to describe and operate user interfaces, 2D/3D graphics, documents, and media. Based on DirectX 9/10 technology, WPF not only introduces unprecedented 3D interfaces but also significantly improves traditional 2D interfaces through its vector graphics rendering engine. Features such as translucent windows in Windows Vista are also made possible by WPF. With WPF, developers can now create visually stunning interfaces comparable to Mac applications, a goal that was once difficult to achieve.
Compared with traditional Windows client development, WPF represents a major step forward. It provides an extensive .NET UI framework that integrates vector graphics, rich flow text support, 3D visual effects, and an exceptionally powerful control model framework.
