4. Feature Overview
Juggle is a low-code API orchestration tool that allows you to quickly combine simple APIs into complex interfaces. The orchestrated APIs can be used directly by frontend applications, significantly improving development efficiency and reducing development costs.
When Should You Use Juggle?
1. Ideal for scenarios where basic service capabilities already exist. Use Juggle to orchestrate microservice APIs and quickly build new products.
2. When a system needs to integrate with third-party systems, Juggle can handle the integration directly through orchestration, without requiring any development work.
3. Ideal for building a frontend adaptation layer (BFF). Juggle can replace the commonly used approach of implementing BFF capabilities with Node.js.
4. Ideal for products requiring private deployment or extensive customization. Use Juggle to orchestrate customized APIs and avoid modifying or contaminating standard code.
Functional characteristics
1. Multi-version workflow management with built-in support for gradual workflow rollouts.
2. Supports data structures such as strings, booleans, integers, decimals, dates, times, lists, and objects, covering most data definition scenarios.
3. Includes various built-in nodes, such as method nodes, conditional nodes, code nodes, assignment nodes, and MySQL nodes, enabling flexible workflow design.
4. Supports multiple scripting languages, including Groovy, JavaScript, Python, and Java, to extend workflow capabilities.
5. Supports API calls using protocols such as HTTP, Dubbo, and WebService.
6. The plugin marketplace provides dozens of official integrations for commonly used systems (such as Tongyi Qianwen, DingTalk bots, QQ Mail, and Alibaba Cloud SMS), ready to use out of the box and significantly reducing workflow design complexity.
7. Fully supports domestic IT infrastructure and innovation initiatives, with database compatibility including MySQL, Dameng, TiDB, and OceanBase.
5. Tech Stack
Quick Start
1. Environment Preparation
Juggle runs on Java, so you must first install the JDK on your device. Make sure your environment meets the following requirements:
a. 64-bit OS, supporting Linux/Unix/Mac/Windows. Linux/Unix/Mac is recommended.
b. 64-bit JDK 1.8+; download & configuration.
2. Download the Installation Package
You can download the juggle-server-$version.zip package from the latest stable release. On Windows, extract juggle-server-$version.zip directly using an archive utility. On Linux/Unix/Mac, extract it using the following command.
3. Start the Server
The startup scripts are located in the juggle/bin directory.
a. Start on Windows
Double-click the startup.cmd file to run it.
b. Start on Linux/Unix/Mac
4. Access Juggle
After successfully starting the server, enter http://127.0.0.1:9127 in your browser to access Juggle. Default login credentials: Username: juggle Password: juggle
5. Example Workflows
To help users get started with Juggle, the system includes sample APIs and workflows. These examples provide a quick way to understand Juggle's core capabilities. For details about the core logic of the example workflows, please refer to Example Workflow Core Logic.
