4. Feature Overview
This project is an open-source Energy Management System (EMS) built on the Ruoyi framework. It retains the framework's built-in permission management system, while all other features are custom-developed and the UI styling has been redesigned. The system provides features such as energy consumption analysis, quota management, and operations and maintenance management to meet users' energy data monitoring and management needs.
Main Functions
-
Data Collection - Supports MQTT communication for real-time collection of energy consumption data from various devices. -
Device Management - Manages device and gateway asset records. -
Operations and Maintenance Management - Includes management features such as inspection plans and maintenance work orders. -
Energy Consumption Analysis - Provides energy consumption overviews, year-over-year and month-over-month comparisons, consumption trends, and breakdown summaries. -
Alarm Management - Includes real-time alarms, historical alarms, and alarm rule configuration. -
Quota Management - Supports quota configuration, usage monitoring, and alerts. -
System Management - Includes user management, permissions, logs, system monitoring, and more. -

MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) is a messaging protocol based on the publish/subscribe paradigm under the ISO standard (ISO/IEC PRF 20922). It operates on top of the TCP/IP protocol and is designed as a publish/subscribe messaging protocol for remote devices with limited hardware capabilities and unreliable network conditions. For this purpose, it requires a message broker.
MQTT is a client-server-based publish/subscribe messaging transport protocol. The MQTT protocol is lightweight, simple, open, and easy to implement, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. In many cases, including resource-constrained environments, it is used for machine-to-machine (M2M) communication and the Internet of Things (IoT). It has been widely adopted in scenarios such as sensors communicating over satellite links, medical devices that connect via occasional dial-up connections, smart homes, and various compact devices.
