1. Project Overview

Akali, a lightweight, localized hotspot detection and degradation framework. Get started in just 10 seconds! A powerful tool for handling high-traffic scenarios.
Akali is a lightweight, locally deployed hot-spot detection and degradation framework designed for high-traffic scenarios. It easily handles situations such as concurrent queries under extremely high traffic. Integration and usage are incredibly simple, allowing you to get started in just 10 seconds!
The philosophy behind the Akali framework is to be compact and practical, appearing and disappearing without a trace. It enters team fights with barely any health and leaves at full health, leaving nothing behind wherever it goes.

Hot-Spot Detection
Automatically detects hot spots locally based on QPS or thread count.
Hot-Spot Handling
Automatically returns cached hot-spot data and removes it when the hot spot disappears.
Degradation Detection
Automatically detects whether degradation is needed based on QPS or thread count.
Degradation Handling
Allows degradation methods to be defined based on method names.
Lightweight and Compact
The entire framework consists of fewer than 500 lines of code and has minimal system overhead.
⚡️Quick Integration
The entire framework requires only two annotations. Simply add the annotations to start using it.
5. Tech Stack
Usage
Add the dependency:
Apply hotspot processing to any method
Simply add the @AkaliHot annotation to any method to enable hotspot detection. During hotspot periods, the method returns cached hotspot data. Once the hotspot period ends, it automatically resumes executing the original business logic.
Example: Consider a product query service that accepts a SkuCode and returns product information. When a product goes on promotion, the number of visits increases. However, for the same SkuCode, the returned SkuInfo remains consistent within a short time window. Our goal is to enable the framework to automatically identify a product SKU as hotspot data when it receives a large number of queries within a short period, then cache and return the data to reduce pressure on downstream services. Once the hotspot period ends, the framework automatically removes the hotspot value and resumes querying through the original process.
Essentially, it monitors hotspots in real time and temporarily caches hotspot data.
