1. Project Overview

SREWorks
Cloud-Native Intelligent Operations and Maintenance Platform
SREWorks, the cloud-native operations platform developed by Alibaba Cloud's Big Data SRE team, incorporates nearly 10 years of SRE engineering practices refined through internal business operations. Following the principles of data-driven and intelligent operations, it helps more professionals in the operations industry adopt intelligent and data-driven approaches to achieve efficient operations and maintenance.

4. Feature Overview
What Is SREWorks?
In 2003, Google introduced a role called SRE (Site Reliability Engineer), which combines the responsibilities of software engineers and system administrators. It emphasizes the development capabilities of operations personnel, requiring that routine operational tasks account for no more than 50% of their workload, while the remaining 50% is dedicated to developing automation tools to reduce manual labor.
As an engineering implementation of SRE principles by Alibaba Cloud's Big Data SRE team, SREWorks focuses on an application-centric, one-stop SaaS management suite for cloud-native and intelligent operations. It provides two core capabilities: enterprise application & resource management and operations development, helping enterprises deliver and maintain cloud-native applications & resources.
Alibaba Cloud's Big Data SRE team has a natural focus on big data and AI, with extensive expertise in these technologies and readily available big data & AI computing resources. The team has consistently promoted data-driven and intelligent operations practices. DataOps (Data-Driven Operations), an industry concept, was first introduced by this team. SREWorks includes an end-to-end DataOps engineering practice covering the entire closed loop, including standardized operations data warehouses, data operations platforms, and operations centers.
The traditional IT operations and maintenance field already has many excellent open-source operations platforms. However, in cloud-native environments, systematic operations and maintenance solutions are still lacking. With the growing trend toward cloud-native technologies, Alibaba Cloud's Big Data SRE team has open-sourced the SREWorks operations platform to provide operations engineers with a ready-to-use solution.
What Are the Advantages of SREWorks?
Returning to the actual needs of the operations and maintenance field, regardless of how upper-layer products and business models evolve, operations fundamentally addresses requirements related to quality, cost, efficiency, and security. SREWorks supports these requirements through a unified operations SaaS interface, driven by intelligent and data-driven principles. Its capabilities cover six areas: delivery, monitoring, management, control, operations, and services.

1. Prerequisites
-
The Kubernetes version must be greater than or equal to 1.20 -
Hardware Requirements: Distributed deployment: At least 3 nodes are recommended (each configured with a 4-core CPU and 16 GB of memory). More than 300 GB of storage space is required, and the Kubernetes cluster must support at least 90 Pods. Complete single-node deployment (Intelligent Edition): At least 8 CPU cores, 32 GB of memory, and 300 GB of disk space are recommended. Single-node Basic Edition deployment: At least 4 CPU cores, 16 GB of memory, and 100 GB of disk space are recommended. -
Installation Steps and Estimated Duration (Full Edition): Deploy the SREWorks foundation on the Kubernetes cluster: approximately 1–2 minutes. Deploy the operations applications on the SREWorks foundation: approximately 5–15 minutes. Once installation is complete, access the site through a web browser.
2. Installation and Deployment
Helm is recommended for installing SREWorks.
